- Miyahara (宮原眼科) is a dessert and ice cream shop next to Taichung Railway Station (台中火車站), converted from an eye hospital built in the Japanese colonial period; the nearby Second Market (第二市場) is a century-old market with many snacks.
- Have breakfast snacks at the Second Market first, then walk over to Miyahara for dessert.
- Taichung Park (台中公園) is also nearby: it is a century-old park and its lakeside pavilion is a Taichung landmark.
