FAQ › Taichung Food
Which Taichung night markets do you recommend? Which ones are open every day for international visitors?
Quick answer
Yizhong Street and Fengjia Night Market are open every day and the most convenient, so you can visit whenever you like. Locals lately love Hanxi Night Market and Daqing Night Market more, but these two are not open every day.
What else should you know?
- Hanxi Night Market is in East District, and Daqing Night Market is on Jianguo South Road in South District (near Daqing Station on the MRT Green Line). These are the night markets locals love most these days. They are not open every day, so check Google Maps or the vendors' announcements before you go.
- Fengjia Night Market is around Feng Chia University in Xitun District. It is one of the largest night markets in Taiwan and is busiest after dusk. The Yizhong Street shopping area is in the North District next to Taichung First Senior High School and is known for cheap student snacks, drinks and clothing.
- Parking near the night markets is very hard to find, so we suggest taking a taxi or the MRT.
- After the market, stay in the North District, which is quieter at night and easier to sleep in than the area around the markets.
