- New Year's Eve: the 2026 Taichung New Year's Eve concert (跨年晚會) is held at Taichung Central Park on the evening of 12/31 (Thu), with several acts performing in turn and fireworks at midnight; admission is free and crowd control is in place.
- 12/31 is a Thursday and a working day, so stay one night on New Year's Eve and your holiday begins the next day.
- Holiday stays book up fast, so reserve early. The Taiwan government's domestic travel subsidy (for Taiwan residents only) applies only on weekdays (Sun–Thu) and cannot be used on national holidays or long weekends.
